About Us

When you are in Penang, you can enjoy myriads of great food and drinks in every corner of the island. However, if you are looking for both delicious food and drinks in a single bar, the options are close to none.

Ideally, the perfect bar should consist of fun music, a relaxing ambience, a great selection of drinks as well as tastefully curated food options.

As two sisters from different backgrounds, we felt a strong responsibility to bring forth our ideal concept of the perfect bar into reality. My eldest sister Erica is an experienced head Chef from Hygge Dining & Bar, and I have been in the interior design field for many years. We happen to share the exact same vision, and we figured out that we are capable of collaborating seamlessly for this project.  After a few rounds of discussions and thorough plannings, we have finally decided to make our dreams come to life together.

That was how Er Yi Tai came about. The name Er Yi Tai means the second wife in the ancient Chinese culture. It is widely believed that the second wife is always the one with more fun and sexy aspects in a woman, and that's exactly what we envision a perfect bar should be.
